There are spicy nuances of cinnamon, cedar and clove. The oak is well integrated, adding complexity and depth to the cherry-berry like flavors. The lengthy finish is a complement of the fruit, balanced acidity and very smooth, resolved tannin. This wine is a great expression of Zinfandel from the Mt. Veeder Appellation.

fter a 5 day cold soak, the must was allowed to warm and yeast D254 was added. Fermentation was in stainless steel tanks for 8-10 days, at 76-88 deg F, with pump over twice a day. Malo-lactic fermentation was initiated at the end of primary fermentation, and completed.
