2004 Napa Valley Syrah
Vintage and Winemaker's Notes:
This wine exudes the youthful, robust, fruitful flavors of what a Syrah should be. Very dark ruby in color, this wine has the forward fruit aroma of red raspberry, entertwined with a dark chocolate complexity. As I sniff further, I get dark cherry as well. There is a subtle hint of oak, kind of a smokey character. In the flavor is dark cherry and black berry, with a medium long finish. The tannins are there, but modest in their intensity.

- Varietal Composition: 84.5% Syrah, 9.5% Petit Sirah, 4.4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1.6% Merlot
- Aging: 12 to 14 months in 60-gal. French and American oak barrels
