130th Anniversary

Image

130 is a blend of vintages, vines of various age and soils of various type and locations:
In honoring the 130 years of winemaking history at Freemark, we wanted to make a blend that captured the essence of the pioneers, the antiquity of our craft that we share, yet blend in the brighter fruit of newer vintages thus symbolizing our winemaking of today. Representing our potential today and in the future, we sourced fruit from 10 different vineyards and 7 different sub-appellations, thus bringing together a multitude of soils, micro-climates, clones, vine ages and viticultural practices. Blending together the subtle nuances that develop in an older wine with the bright fruit of a more youthful wine is not new, in fact the art has been used for centuries in the solera systems of Europe. Here we have employed the technique to develop the ultimate Bordeaux blend in honor of our 130 year anniversary.
