Description
Dark ruby-colored wine, with hefty aromas of cedar, eucalyptus, dusty earth and currant. A plush mouthfeel, full of ripe black raspberry flavors and hints of mint and juniper. Well-integrated French oak and velvety tannins lead to a long, rich finish. Looking back, 1999 was a longer and cooler growing season than average, giving a great slow and steady ripening pattern. Red wines across the board showed good structure and particularly intense color; cabernets should age especially well.
