The Josephine Red Blend pays tribute to Josephine Tychson, who founded our winery in 1886. Winemaker Kristy Melton sources the fruit entirely from the St. Helena AVA, where Josephine first planted vines. Kristy notes the wine is made similar to how it would have been in Josephine’s time. “Every row has a purpose, and nothing’s without intention or managed without a lot of hard work, because making small volumes of the wine is just as hard as making large ones, if not harder at times.”

St. Helena

A tribute to our founder, Josephine Tychson, we craft this wine as a rich, complex, elegant, and intriguing wine from St. Helena. A base of Cabernet yields dark fruit notes of black cherry and black raspberry with well-structured tannins. Merlot contributes elements of plum, vanilla, and supple textures, while the Cabernet Franc and Malbec add exotic baking spice notes. The resulting blend is creamy, brooding, and richly textured, making it great with food or simply lovely on its own.
