Dark ruby color, the Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Merlot wine expresses rich dark fruit of blackberry, dark cherry, with a spice complexity of black pepper, sage and earth. The integrated oak component expresses cinnamon, clove and aromatic cedar. The entry and finish on the palate are very smooth, with integrated fruit resembling black cherry. This wine has a good overall balance of fruit, body, resolved tannin and balanced acidity. The depth of fruit coupled with the richness of flavor provides a profile that delivers from the initial sip, and continues on the palate for a very long finish.

Merlot Bosché

The Bosché Vineyard not only yields incredible Cabernet, but the Merlot is so great we love to bottle a small amount on its own to show its beauty. The wine is deep purple in color with aromas of blueberry, plum, dried flowers and oak spices. The palate is creamy and rich with plenty of vibrant fruit and earth characters including milk chocolate, cedar and bramble berry compote. The textures are well integrated, making it lovely on its own today with the ability to age well for years in the cellar. Aging potential in a proper cellar is 15 years or more.

The rugged topography and warm climate create a wine that is dark garnet in color and complex in its features. It exudes aromas of dry fig, red raspberry, black currant, blueberry and mountain scrub. Flavors are reminiscent of pomegranate, plums, wild herbs, dried sage, black pepper and espresso. The fruit and spice expression combine with a supple texture and well-integrated tannins that is luxurious from start to finish.
