Freemark Abbey's acclaimed Cabernet portfolio is led by the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and iconic single-vineyard bottlings, Cabernet Bosché and Sycamore Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Through thoughtful and meticulous planning, Freemark Abbey has compiled one of the most extensive Libraries in the United States.  It consists primarily of our finest single-vineyard wines with vintages spanning seven decades. Freemark Abbey also introduces a new icon – Colline Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

As only the eighth winemaker since 1886, Kristy Melton inherits the forward-thinking vision of Freemark Abbey. She says, “nature doesn't stand still, and neither does our winemaking.”

Napa Valley Classic and the 1976 Judgement of Paris

Freemark Abbey's history, spanning three centuries, is a story of firsts. It was one of the first to emerge from Prohibition, open a tasting room, and experiment with single varietals, helping to propel Napa Valley to the world stage in the 1970s in the Judgement of Paris.

Freemark Abbey was established in 1886 as the 16th bonded winery in Napa Valley and is considered one of the first Cabernet producers in the region. Our property is home to an 1899 hand-built stone winery that serves as a fixture of Napa Valley history.

Freemark Abbey is proud to support local nonprofit organizations and their events in California and Oregon – the communities where we live and work.
