Classic “Spring Mountain” describes the distinctive aroma of this dark ruby cabernet.  Ripe jammy black fruits abound with herbal nuances of pine, dark olive, expresso, tar, roast beef and forest floor.  The flavors are reminiscent of dark cherry and plum with a firm crispness for balance and length.  This cabernet sauvignon from Freemark Abbey is a great example of a mountain cab, with the rich extraction of abundant flavors providing a wine of great depth and pleasure.  It is hard to just taste it…..

93 Points

The 100% Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain was aged 26 months in French oak and displays a dense purple color and much more suppleness than the Mt. Veeder or Rutherford offerings. The wine has loads of blueberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with white flowers, cocoa and a hint of underbrush. It is dense, full-bodied, chewy and very well-made. Drink it over the next 25 years.
